Notes: The main thing that stands out about this set is the bright white borders and white cardboard used for this set. The other Peerless sets use more of a grey cardboard. Other characteristics - they are in black and white, the picture of the star is in a rectangular box, the name of the star is in caps, with the studio below in mixed case italics. On the back, these cards contain a fortune on one side, "Collect Printicks of Movie Stars" on the other, and a space for a weight printout in the middle. There is a copyright line on the back that ends with Ptd. U.S.A.
There is a Canadian version of this set issued by Canadian Rhodes. The Canadian set has blue toned pictures on the fronts with green text on the backs.
There are 40 known cards in the Canadian set and 10 additional cards are known in the USA Peerless set. As for the Canadian set, an eBay seller indicated that he thought that his batch of 40 was a complete set, so the Canadian set is probably complete at 40. The 10 cards that are in the USA set and not in the Canadian set are Gregory Batoff, J. Edward Bromberg, Joan Davis, Shirley Deane, Virginia Field, Douglas Fowley, Kenneth Howell, Allan Lane, Robert Lowery, and Pat Peterson.
Exact year of issue not known. 20th Century-Fox was created in 1935, so this set had to be issued in that year or later. Based on the careers of the stars in the set, this set was probably issued in about 1938.
