Notes: Checklist Incomplete. These cards can be identified by the Series C on the back. They contain the following characteristics - they are in black and white with a pastel pinkish-grey background and pinkish-white border. Identifying text is written in diagonal script. On the back, these cards contain a fortune on one side, the name of the issuer on the other, and a space for a weight printout in the middle. There is a copyright line on the back that starts with Pat. No. 1546553. Cards from this set are numbered.
Multiple cards have been seen for some numbers. It is possible that there were two different sets of these, or it is possible that they were issued for a long period of time and some cards were substituted out for others.
Another possibility is that there may be only one set of fronts and they may have been printed with different numbers because the card sheets were fed differently when printing the fronts and backs. The backs do not have the name of the movie star, so there is nothing on the back linking a particular number to a particular star. Some of the movie stars have been seen with more than one number (Charles Chaplin, Arthur Lake, and Renee Adoree at least), lending some credence to this theory.
Exact year of issue not known. The dates I've seen so far in the weight printout range from 1932 to 1934, so these cards must have been issued in 1932 or earlier.
