Issuing Company: Strand Theatre|
Country of Issue: USA
Year of Issue: 1925
Number of Cards in Set: At least 2 (unnumbered)
Card Size: 3 1/4" x 5 5/16"
Issued as insert with what product: A new card given out each week to patrons of the theatre.
Notes: Checklist probably incomplete. The card backs contain a list of movies that will be shown in the upcoming week. Day-Month dates are listed for the movies, with a year of 1925 listed. There was a space at the bottom of the backs for advertising, and at least two different advertisers are listed on these cards. Advertisers include Mark E. Trone Jeweler, Murphy's Cut Rate Store, and Newcomer's Cigar Store.
The front design of these cards is identical to the Firemens Auditorium and Hersker Theatre sets. It is very likely that the checklist for the Strand, Firemens and Hersker set is the same. These cards were probably issued by an unknown card printer to movie theaters throughout the country in 1925, each with personalized advertising on the backs for their particular theater as well as additional advertising for local merchants.
