Notes: Checklist may or may not be complete. Steve Flemming from Australia reported this very unusual card from Australia. Steve reports that he has acquired this card showing three early film greats in the same image, with different stars appearing as you turn the card, similar to a holographic image but apparently issued before holographic technology was discovered. Steve says:

"The card is basically a psuedo holographic image which depicts three of the greats of the crossover Silent Movie to Talkies generation in the early to mid 1920's and although you probably can't detect them on the scan (and there's no way to scan them to do so), the characters are Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks Jnr and Charlie Chaplin (in his 'Little General' guise)."

The oval containing the holographic image is approximately 1 1/4" x 1 3/4".

Steve says he has shown the card to Eric Panther, President of the Australian Cartophilic Society and a major contributor for the World Index reference books and he has never seen anything like it before. Eric suggested that it is undoubtedly exceedingly rare and may even be a one of a kind card in Australia.

The writing on the card says "Try a Tin To-day," indicating the card may be a trade card instead of an insert card.

Eric Panther sent in a scan of a second card from this set. It is an unidentified man, can anyone identify him? (Click the small picture above to see images.)

Thanks to Steve Flemming and Eric Panther for providing the information for this checklist.
