Issuing Company: Country of Issue: Spain Year of Issue: 1917 Color/B&W: B&W Number of Cards in Set: Card Size: Issued as insert with what product: Movie Theatre Giveaway |
Notes: Blank backed. Interestingly, the Moulin Rouge in Paris was closed from 1915 until 1921 due to a fire so no acts appeared there in this period. It is possible that this card was based on El Molino - which was known as the Moulin Rouge of Barcelona known for hosting revue, cabaret and burlesque acts. This card seems likely to be an advertisement of one such act though little is known about the star advertised on front: Antonita Madrid.
Date info: Dated October 1917 on front.
Thanks to Richard Minns for helping with this checklist.
