In the Cameric Cigarette Card Club "Notes and News" magazine for April 1953, collector A. Yates from South Africa wrote that this was new set and the cards were being given away to children at movie theatres in South Africa. Yates reported that "to see the children at the matinees reminds me of days gone by, when "swopping" was the order of the day."
Date info: The Cameric Cigarette Card Club "Notes and News" magazine for April 1953 has a mention of this set as a new issue, so it was issued in 1953 or possibly late 1952. I'm placing a date of 1953 on the set.
