Set Information written by Bob Forbes This 84-card series contains three front varieties: white borders (39); gold borders (20); and star, crescent, and bat borders (25). The series was issued in packages of Fatima and Richmond Straight Cut cigarettes by the American Tobacco Company from the fall of 1909 through the spring of 1910. The total of 39 for the white border cards indicates that probably one more (for an even total of 40) was at least planned, if not issued. The World Index lists a white-bordered card for Jeannett Gaylord but states that it hasn't been studied and probably wasn't issued. Chris Benjamin and Charles Bray both listed two cards for Blanche Walsh (white border), one with a hat and one without; only the one without a hat has been confirmed. There are three different backs found which advertise Fatima Turkish Cigarettes, Fatima Turkish Blend Cigarettes (the word "Blend" is in smaller letters), and Richmond Straight Cuts Cigarettes. The Fatima Turkish Blend Cigarettes backs are the most common.
