Note: There are no company markings on these cards, but they were issued by De Beukelaer. A De Beukelaer album exists for this set.
The study of old trading cards is interesting because just when you think you are finished with a checklist, new information comes to light to change things around. I thought I had a complete checklist of this set, but new information from Richard Minns shows that there are a bunch of variation cards in this set. Richard's group of these cards are mostly the same as my original checklist, but his group contains 12 variation cards, all with either Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio captions or no studio caption. It appears that at some point during the release of this set, the MGM cards were substituted in or out of the set for some unknown reason. I will list Richard's variation cards with a b. in the checklist below so everyone can see which variation belongs with which group.
Date info: The album helps pinpoint the date of issue for this set. In the album, there is text for each of the stars, including mention of their most recent films. Most of the most recent films listed for the stars came out in 1948, though at least one came out in January of 1949. I'm placing a 1949 date on this set.
