Notes: Checklist may be incomplete. Cards are blank-backed and unnumbered. Cards are paper thin. I have had a lone card of Gene Tierney on this checklist for over 25 years with no updates spotted by me or reported by anyone else, then recently picked up a group of 22 different, greatly expanding the checklist. Some of these have a sticker placed on the card with the word "Lucite." It looks like these may have been used originally as placeholder pictures for people buying lucite picture frames.
Most of these cards have the movie star identified on the cards, but a few do not. Most of them appear to be machine cut, but a couple are hand trimmed. All are in color except for one slightly oversized black and white card of Alice Faye (Faye is unidentified on the card).
This set was likely issued in the USA.
Date info: Frank Sinatra is identified as an RKO Radio star, which he was starting in 1943 and lasting through most of the rest of the 1940s. Marjorie Weaver made her last credited film in 1945. There is one film listed on one of the cards, but the film was released in 1939, which is several years earlier than this set was probably released, so that is not much help in dating these cards. These were most likely released in the late 1940s, though they could have been issued a bit earlier.
